Work Therapy

The therapy of work. How does it work?

I don’t fully understand it. What I have experienced is when a problem gets me down – I am stumped – something is bothering me I cannot solve, if I get to work with some manual labor, it either eases the problem or solves it.

Back in the day the labor was done at the ironing board. Really cleaning of any sort will do the same thing. Then it became gardening, just digging my fingers in the dirt. Piano lessons were another. I could bang it out on the piano whatever was bothering me, and when the piece would get too hard, I would go out to the garden and start digging. When I came back in, my fingers were all limbered up and I could play through the piece too difficult before.

So I’ve come to the conclusion…rather than sit and stew, it’s better to get up and do!

Many hard projects have been accomplished this way. As the body works, the mind thinks.

Maybe that’s where the saying, “Work through your problems” comes from.

Who Sees Who?

God sees. God sees everything!

He knows where everything is.

Sometimes I have lost or misplaced something, so I’ve asked God to show me where it is. Then a thought or mental picture will come to mind, and I’ll find it. Not always immediately, but it will happen.

He knows where every lost person is. He sees every stolen item or person. He knows where everything hidden in secret is hidden.

I am comforted knowing God sees everything. It’s also good for me to know this when tempted… to remember He is always watching.

He sees everything happening in the dark as well as in the light. He made the light and the dark.

Evil people may plot and plan in the dark and secret places, but even there God is watching. He sees it all. He knows who did what. Since he is fair and just, he will repay every man accordingly. He is no respecter of persons, but he does respect good versus evil.

I don’t need to worry about what I cannot control in others. If I keep myself in line, God will help me.

Do you think about these things too?

Hanging on By a Thread…

Don’t cut the thread! Don’t give up on yourself!

“A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth.” *

Even God, Himself won’t cut the thread or give up on you. He is for all of us underdogs. We who have tried and failed and tried and failed, sometimes given up but still trying.

You have worth and value inherently inside you because you were made in the image of God. Don’t believe anyone who tells you there is no value in you, or you have no place or aren’t needed and have nothing to offer. God did not say that about you and his word is tops!

He will never tell you you’ve gone too far, made too many mistakes and are unfixable. He can mend your life. He can mend your family. He can mend your friends. That’s what he does. He just needs your permission.

Tell Him about your thread…
