God’s Clock

One of the thing I like about God is, He is not affected by time zones. It’s always daylight wherever He is and He can see in the dark…our dark.

He doesn’t have to wait until 8 o’clock to start work and he doesn’t quit work at five…oh, I forgot you’re in a different time zone so he won’t be able to start working on your problem for another three hours, or sorry you’re in a different time zone, he’s already stopped working for the day where you live…

WRONG!

How funny our thinking can be sometimes.

God is there whenever we need him, wherever we are. He has the light on for us when we can’t see through the tunnels and crevices of life .

With God, it’s always daytime and his office door is always open.

Yes…

  • God has an open door policy.
  • God makes time for us.
  • God is always on time.
  • God lives in our time zone.

What do I need to go into God’s office and talk with him about today?

Today

Today much of the world celebrates Jesus showing death that it does not have the power it thinks it does over us.

Is there death in some area of your life? Mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, relationally with others? Jesus wants to, he has the power to come into that very area of your life that’s causing all the pain and heartache and overpower it…heal it!

We don’t have to climb 150 stairsteps, give away all our money, move or change our wardrobe. All he wants is for us to come back to him.

These can be hard words to read, we have been conditioned to see God as a hateful, wrathful, angry,  mean judge doling out punishment for our wrongs. That is not the voice of God. Jesus didn’t come to condemn or destroy, He was sent to free and restore…to give life…now in our current lives on earth.

Other’s words have spoken to us confusion, mistrust and cynicism. God’s words are helpfulness, peace, wisdom, truth, belonging, and care…true love.

Today, think about how you would like to be loved, how you would like to care for others and know that is God’s heart to you.

Today, give him the benefit of the doubt. Test him and see what good he will bring into your life.

It can be all new for you today.

God is good!

Good Friday

All over the globe Good Friday is observed. Why?

Easter-time is the most exciting time of year for me. We’ve been talking about Life and Green Pastures and that leads right into Easter-time and newness and hope and new beginnings… new growth, regrowth, color, light, happy sounds in nature. Everything on earth wants to celebrate!

Many of us have had dark winter days too many days in a row, too many months in a row, too many years in a row. We need a fresh spring, a fresh start, a second chance at life. If we allow it, there is hope for us and hope for anyone, no matter what their past winter days have held for them. The snow will melt, the ice will turn into streams of clear living water which will cause a freshness, a restart to us… if we let it.

Everybody is searching for solutions, direction, help in these times of trouble. Even a brown field will sprout fresh seedlings, a dark tree branch will grow buds and flower itself all over! Baby birds will hatch on the coldest days in their warm nest.

The key to the sprout, the key to the bud, the key to the hatching is the same source of power that will give us a fresh start, a new beginning, another chance, a clean slate, and there will be no strings attached! No penance or works needed on our part, no special outfit, hat or shoes needed for this Easter service. You can think about it this weekend. What would my life look like, feel like, be like if I decided to have a new beginning?

That’s why God sent Jesus. He did all the work for us. All we need to do is say, “God help me. I need you.” and see what happens.

It’s going to be a good Friday and a good weekend!
