More Right Notes than Wrong Notes are Being Played

The world is like a symphony.

Today there are many types of instruments each making their own sound.

Some are playing the right notes–clear and beautifully…pleasant sounds to hear…they make us feel good and uplifted.

Some are playing the wrong notes…one of the clarinets squeaked, a trombone hit the wrong note and the kettle drums were a bit loud.

Over all the symphony sounds great. We enjoy the beautiful sounds and overlook the wrong notes played. It is still a good orchestra.

Ultimately there are more right notes being played than wrong.

In life there will always be wrong notes played. People are learning the skill of the instrument or they’re just hoping to be heard.

Keep developing your ear for the good sounds. Sometimes you’ll have to listen harder than others because maybe the drummer got us off on a tangent, but you’ll be able to hear the good music, the good sounds, catch the beat and feel inspired.

Keep listening…encourage others to listen for the good notes, and enjoy the symphony.

Be Like a Magnet

Draw out the good in others.

A magnet can merely pass by something with iron in it and the iron particles will be drawn towards it.

Remember the kids whisker-face man toy? Iron filings underneath the clear plastic turned into whiskers and beards when you drew the magnetic pencil across his face. It all depended on where you held the magnet.

Many people have good inside them waiting to come out but there are other things… cares of life, sickness, job and family issues covering up and they’re down a lot.

Be a magnet for good, and when you encounter them use a happy voice, a cheery smile, a positive comment, and see if you can help pull their good up to the surface in their life so they can take a fresh look on things….even if only for a moment. It will be like a seed and perhaps begin to grow as other people go by with their magnets for good.

Some will be repelled by your good, or the particles of good may not come to the surface by your magnet, but don’t give up. There is a lot of good in the world and we need to bring it out.

Where am I going to draw my magnet today?

Could I turn whiskers into a smile?

If You Want to Feel Needed…

Make other people feel needed.

Begin by saying, “Thank you.”

…to the trashman

…to the janitor at the YMCA

…to the bus driver

…to the check out person

…to your family

It will make their day, and their reaction will make your day…a chain reaction has begun!!!

We need what another provides. and they need acknowledgement for what they provided. It’s not about trying to get something from someone, it’s about giving worth and value to another person…that you sincerely need and appreciate what they are offering, whether it’s free or whether they are paid for what they do.

It’s a human to human connection—a bond —in the category that says, “I see you”, “I see what you do”, “You are adding value to my life by what you are doing.”

Today, let’s begin to appreciate another person, add value to them and it in turn will add value to us.
