Land of the Free – Home of the Brave!

Often when we hear these words, we think about war and fighting with weapons for freedom.

Yet freedom of speech and the war about words was really what started it all. Human beings want/need to be heard, have an input, see worth in what they want to bring into life.

I think it’s an act of bravery to speak up for yourself in any area of life today…so much concern about political correctness, what would G’ma think, what will the neighbors say …’if I said that!’?

We talk about the status quo, but if we don’t challenge it by speaking out against it for change and improvement, that’s not brave and it won’t help our freedom.

I’m not talking about rebellion and anarchy just for the sake or proving someone wrong or fighting authority. I’m talking about challenging ideas and methodologies we’ve been ingrained with that are no longer serving us. They are extracting from us, rather than adding to us.

That takes bravery/courage to speak up and begin to question– so things might be rethought –and necessary reforms take place.

Just because, ‘this is the way we’ve always done it’ or ‘this is the way we’ve always thought’, doesn’t mean it is working for us now.

Use your freedom!

Don’t be afraid to think constructive thoughts how things, activities, processes, relationships, organization and organizations can be changed to work better, smoother, more efficiently, effectvely.

Learn to enjoy the freedom of thinking, and talk with others about it.

Be brave, start now!

THOUGHTS

This thought came to me on March 18, 2020….my father’s birthday.

He would have been 117, born in 1913. His father was born in 1863 during the Civil War. (Crazy to think my grandfather was born then. My parents married late and had us kids late. 95% of my relation marry late!)

We come from a long line of ‘thinkers’…always trying to simplify and solve things.

My daughter recently gave me a notepad with the phrase,

“What can I overthink today?”

So anyway the (my) thought was quite simple:

“Your best work is only a thought away. Think well today!”,

So with this thought in mind…what can we think about to improve…

…a relationship, a job, a task, a schedule, a project, a technique, a design?

What could we begin…

…a new adventure, a new hobby, a new product, a new connection, a new job, a new vocation, a new recipe, a new book?

Take your pick! It is only a thought away….your best work !!!

(keep thinking, keep improving, your work will only get better!)

Become Ye Thankful

Every single day become thankful for something.

Big or small, large or insignificant….there is stuff in everyone’s life and work to be thankful for.

Sometimes it’s buried under layers of care, concern, fear, and plain old bad circumstances. These anchor us down, sap our energy and deplete our strength. …steal our joy and peace of mind.

Thoughts might say…. ‘stay concerned’ or ‘stay serious’….but too much of that is not good for us.

When you start to feel heavy and pressed down with cares, make yourself think of one good thing….and say thank you.

See the better person you are becoming.

Thanking is an automatic stress reliever, it will change your outlook on life, you will be more helpful to others.

Thanking gets our thinking off ourselves.

What is one ‘thankful think’ I can do today?

I will have two ‘thankful thinks’ tomorrow.
