Focused Inward? Focus Outward!

Oh, man! I don’t know what to write about! If I say this –that person may not like it, if I say that –somebody else won’t like it. Probably no one will like/need/want what I have to say. So I guess I’ll just stay safe and say nothing 😦

All wrapped up in my self-made cocoon, not developing, not coming out, refusing to become/share what I have to contribute.

It’s dark inside this cocoon, nobody to talk to, too quiet, and I feel cramped. Can’t get around, can’t do anything except lay-low and wait….wait for what!?! How long is this going to last? How long do I have to be in here?

Hold on!….. I have a key to get out! That is the key!! Looking outward!!!

There’s a whole bunch of people outside…wanting to see what I’m doing. They want to see what I’m about. Perhaps I can help them…wait! they’re helping pull me out. I can see the sunshine, it feels good on my wings, and I am gaining strength….let’s see, that person over there has a need…I think perhaps….Hey! those guys need help and I know what to do there too! I can’t help everybody, but I’m already pretty busy helping somebody!

That key sure worked great!!!

Now when I get stuck inside…I’m gonna look outside. There is a world of people needing what I have to give.

Throw off the wraps!

There’s work to do!

Will you join me?

Light

In the beginning, God made light and it’s a good thing, because without light we cannot see anything.

God didn’t need the light to see- since He Himself is already Light.

He created the light for our benefit.

Light is to shine into the darkness and open it up so we can see what needs to be done and fix things.

What do we do when there is a power failure? The first thing is we reach for the light switch so we can see to call the power company to alert them of the power failure! That’s how dependent we are on light.

There are all kinds of darknesses in our lives and world today.

If we can shine some light on them…enough to see and understand what is really going on, we might be able to solve the problem.

Darkness could just be a misunderstanding between people. If the light can be shined upon it enough so the real issue can come to the surface and be seen, perhaps the solution could be reached.

But…!

The nature of darkness is hiddenness, secrecy and fear. Fear of what if someone finds out?!!! What will it make me look like? How will I manage? Will I be rejected by my people, by my family, by my friends?

What will happen if the darkness is exposed?

Well, then it won’t be dark anymore. It will be light and you can see how to move forward. Everyone will be seeing the same thing so agreement can be reached.

What you can see is no longer hidden so you don’t need to fear it anymore, and once fear has lost its power, the problem can be talked about.

Don’t be afraid…step into the light.

It is shining for you!

God Wants to Be Noticed

How good does it feel when someone gives you a nice compliment, or just acknowledges you and comes over with a big smile and says, ‘Hello’ and ‘How are you doing’ and asks about you and your family, and how you’ve been etc.?

Even if you’re the shy type, it still makes you feel good and you think, “How nice they are to stop and talk and ask about me”.

God is the same way. He wants to be noticed by us and by others.

He has this whole display on earth all the beautiful flora and fauna, animals, waters, different peoples, and He has given us good creative minds to think—all that He might be noticed!
The heavens declare the glory of God, the firmament declares His handiwork.

God likes it when we notice what He’s done and say, “Thanks!”, “I really appreciate all you’ve done”, This is a magnificent day!” Wow! God, it’s absolutely amazing how you made all these little bitty stones all different shapes and colors to glow in the bottom of the stream bed under those little fish, some bright and fancy, and others sort of dark and drab.”, “Boy those clouds are beautiful. How majestic is that sky today!”

God loves to hear you talk like that. We’re noticing Him. We’re giving Him glory. It’s who He is. He is a creative God. He is the creator…The Only God! He is a good God!

“What do you know about that? I made every green light in a row driving today! Thanks God! You did that for me. I’m just me, but you’re You! Thanks for watching out for me!”

“Boy, I got a late start today; those kids made me late again!” But there was a bad wreck about 15 minutes ago on the road I drive and God didn’t let me be on the highway at that time. He was protecting me, “Thanks God! You’ve done it again!”

I can’t thank You enough for everything you’ve done in my life and I love my kids!

Yes, God, I notice You!
