Love/Hate

I have a love-hate relationship with my exercise class.

Today I wanted to just stay home…not even show up for my RPM spin class. BUT, I was already committed, signed up and bag packed.

At the first, my heart beat so fast, I thought it would quit. My legs hurt so bad, I couldn’t stand up. I panted so hard for air, I thought I’d fall off the bike. That was 2-3 days a week and some days I was a no show.

My goals were to regain muscle tone, balance and stamina…something that had disappeared after years of sit-down work.

This went on for a number of weeks until my decision to go all in and bike 6 days a week! What was I thinking?? I figured if I committed to every day, then it wouldn’t be so easy to ‘just stay home’.

Our YMCA has the best RPM teachers, they pick out the best music tracks for us to ride to and it is alot of fun, but the work is hard every single time. I gradually came to the realization it was never going to be easy, but once I get to class, get my shoes on, talk with the other riders and the music begins, I’m glad I went. Make no mistake about it, when class is over, I am very glad, but I feel great, and am making visible progress these last 5 months.

I love the result, but I hate to go, I love to ride the bike, but I hate the extreme amount of effort it takes.

Yes it is a love/hate relationship with that bike class!!!

I’m going back again tomorrow night.

Is it the same way for you too?

Guess What?

I goofed up! …..because….

The calendars are different these days.

Some weeks begin on Sunday, the original, old fashioned way. Some begin on Monday. There is one company that begins on Saturday!

My phone calendar begins on Sunday, the way I am accustomed to. The paper calendar referencing when these posts go out began on Monday.

Somehow, between the two……today, the 31st, was bypassed, and no blog post got attached to it.

Tune in tomorrow….there are currently 2 weeks of daily posts awaiting.

Until then…hope you have a really good day!

I’m heading to the YMCA for my RPM bike class….can’t emphasize the need for good exercise to keep mentally and physically fit these days.
