My Beautiful Life

I’m sill going to live a beautiful life and do things I like to do.

It doesn’t matter what other people tell me how I have to live my life or what I have to expect.

My life is my choice and mine to live happily and to the glory of God. He said for me to choose life and choose happiness and joy. He said he wished I prosper and be in health. Why should I disagree with him???

Why can’t I enjoy what he said I can have and do what he said I can do?

He’s prospering and keeping me healthy so I can add unto others lives with what he is given me. That’s not selfishness, that’s gratitude and generosity.

What if no one had any money or what if we all made the same amount of money? There would be no excess to donate for libraries and charities, parks, museums, colleges, and upkeep of our country.

Why try to pull everyone down to the same level? Humans want something to strive towards.

Where is this equalness and sameness coming from?

Why hold ourselves back? Why pull people back because some don’t have what others have?

Lets reach back and pull them forward, give them a leg up!

That is the better way to do things.

A beautiful life is about progress, development, helping others, moving ahead, bettering things, advancing, contribution.

It’s about, ‘If I can do it so can you! Let me show you how!’

How can I be an example for betterment today?

The Land of Plenty

Then why don’t I have anything? or at least what I want/need/desire?

To me, a land of plenty means I can think about what I want, I can envision how to make it happen, and I have access to the materials I need to do it.

We have all these things. We have a mind. We have an imagination. We have something in our power to use. We have people around to help us and who need what we have to offer.

When you think about it, everything made on this earth began with the raw materials close to us.

That’s how last names evolved…Blacksmith, Wellman, Carpenter, Carver, Stonebraker, Shoemaker, Hunter, Potter, Goldsmith, Letterman…pick a trade!

Now days it could be…Blogger, EtsySeller, Writer, Photographer, Coach, Instagrammer, Utuber, Podcaster, Webman….trade your old trade-name for a new trade-name!

It doesn’t matter what your old last name was, take on the new name that is a better fit for today’s times and get busy!

We’ve got different kinds of trees to chop down and use in 2020, but they’re here for us.

They will build our homes. They will fuel our fires. They will cook our food. They will become chairs to sit on. They will introduce us to a whole world of new friends, and we will find our land of plenty where there is no lack!

It begins with the idea. It takes desire and courage to work it through to make it work.

Be determined. Get up. Keep moving. Fall down. Get up. Stay determined. Get moving. Look ahead. Keep your eye on your land of plenty!

How will I begin today? What tools do I already have? Do they need sharpening? Who can help me? What do I really want?

I will start small. I will commend myself for progress. God will open doors as I move forward. He will multiply my efforts.

Somebody vs Nobody

Last post, I related a story about the man coming into the office angry and trying to deposit his ‘people-pain’ on me. I mentioned how my response was kind and friendly even though his actions were undeserving; but isn’t that the way life is? None of us deserve good treatment, but we are obligated to treat all humans with respect and kindness, being an example of what we’d like to see from them. “Do unto others as you would like done unto you.” Sometimes that is very hard to remember, much less do. But it is a possible goal…it won’t be done perfectly or often enough, but it is a goal I’m striving for. Back to the gentleman previously mentioned. As an experiment in people, I have treated him very kindly since that experience and guess what? He came into the office another time and I wished him a good day and he said with his back to me, “Same to you.” What a surprise!!! That was the most positive thing I’d heard from him ever! The next time he came in, I wished him a good day again and this time he replied, “Have a good day.” Again still not facing me when he spoke, but this was progress none-the-less! He has been in several more times since and his demeanor is changing for the better each time. I think some people have in their minds from previous episodes in their lives, thought patterns that they have to act, react or think and respond in certain ways. They don’t see other options. By treating them with kindness and respect and just being good to them, I believe it raises the bar in their lives by raising the bar in their own eyes of who they are. They begin to see themselves as someone worth something to someone else and because they are now a somebody and not a nobody, they begin to treat others as somebodies and not nobodies. Try this experiment in you own life and see what good results they bring.
