Higher Powers Part II

Think of all the higher powers used today. Most have to do with something spiritual – filling a need we cannot.

Can a higher power be anything other than me? Surely it has to be more intelligent, more aggressive, stronger in many aspects…at least think differently. I know I’m limited so I want my higher power to be what I am not.

  • Can I change my higher power to something else if I change my mind?
  • Can my higher power be the same as somebody else’s?
  • Can I tell my higher power what I want?
  • Can my higher power hear me talk to it?
  • Does my higher power like me?
  • Can I see my higher power, can I look at it?

Is my higher power working for me? Am I working for it?

Why?

Your Higher Power

Does your higher power have any power?

Does it have enough power to help you, to answer your questions, to lead you in the correct path for your life, to encourage you when you are down, to heal you when you are sick, and console you through loss?

  • Can it make anything happen for you?
  • What power does your higher power have?
  • Where does it get its power?
  • Is its power potent?
  • Can it lose its power?
  • Who gave it it’s power?

Does it have power all on its own or did someone merely say it has power or ‘give it power’?

Can a human being give a higher power power?

If it is a truly higher power, how can it receive strength from something ‘lower’ ?

We need to ask these questions. There are many kinds of higher powers spoken about today.

Where does your higher power fit in?

The Power of One

“I can’t do anything about anything, I am only one person.”

One spark started a forest fire.

One egg hatched into a chicken that had many more.

One acorn grew a tree with many acorns making a woods.

One drop of water joined with another and made a flood.

One drop of oil opened a rusted lock.

One sheep gave enough wool to make a blanket.

One blanket kept one person warm.

One warm person boiled one egg in water over the fire from one spark, over wood by the tree from one acorn, cut down by a chain saw needing one drop of oil.

This one person wrote one letter that was read by many and changed the direction of their lives for good.

…the power of one.

What is in your good power?
