The Curtain

There’s an unseen curtain in life…like a stage with its platform and curtain.

Are we an observer or a participant? Do we watch helplessly and complain about the play we are watching…lousy actors, poor script, props and backdrop aren’t good enough. Or can we move to the other side of the curtain and become a participant? Can we offer our services, suggestions, manpower, whatever is needed to help make the play better?

Take time to learn and study what concerns and interests you. Learn all you can to make thoughtful comments and decisions about where you can best help. You are here for a reason – to offer input and help.

This big world cannot ‘turn’ by itself. God put us here with purpose – to tend the earth – utilize its resources, create, make worthwhile projects of value to the earth and to others. There’s a lot of acreage on our planet. We need to be aware and responsible for the ‘acreage’ we live on; to tend and care for it; to beautify it and build it up…keeping it organized. It is our responsibility.

Decide today to become a participant in building up your part of the world. Learn, read, study, observe, think about the past and how it relates to our future. Take yourself and family on trips around the world and see how other people live. Listen to them talk. Watch them cook. Eat their food. Immerse yourself in this beautiful play called life.

Don’t stay stuck in uncomfortable theatre chairs when the action is happening on the other side of the curtain!

Let You Out!

Once upon a time most of us were carefree little kids. Mom and Dad, or Grandma and Grandpa would let us out to play. We’d make cups and bowls out of river-bottom clay, build bridges with sticks and stones, clothes-pin baseball cards to our bike spokes and listen to the clatter. We’d mix our food together different ways and eat it. We’d sew dresses for our troll dolls…

We started to grow up and somebody told us our striped shirt didn’t look good with our plaid shorts. The frosting on our homemade cake was an ugly color. Our glasses looked dumb. Our feet were too long, our hair was too curly…self-conscious, self-conscious, self-consciousness began to set in.

It’s too painful fighting off the thoughtless comments from others… I’m not going to do anything different, not going to be made fun of again…gonna blend in so no one sees me AT ALL!

Years pass, nothing changes, it’s day in-day, day-out…same ole, same ole. “Oh how I wish I could be more than a cog-in-the-wheel.”

That is the voice of our true calling…asking us:

Who are you? Where are you going? What do you really want to do? Are you tired of the rat -race?

Get back to the childhood freedom of mind. Begin to think, play, design, dream, plan, imagine, tinker.

It’s time to let ourselves out!

We do not need to ask permission…

Pull Out the Stops!

It’s time to pull out all the stops!

In organ lingo, that means—let all the pipes you got play!

Let ‘er rip! Open it up! We want the FULL SOUND!!!

It’s time for all us us to step up and step it up. Our world needs to hear all the notes we have been given to play.

We are here for a reason and every pipe in the organ is needed and needs to be played now!

If you can only play softly at first…begin there. At least get your organ legs moving. The Master Organist will bring out your sound loud and clear as you let His wind blow across your pipes.

What is stopping your music from being played? Can you find out and open it up to share with the world?

We need to hear your sound.
