Plan Your Life

Yes! You plan your very own life!

Examine your life, your needs, responsibilities, wishes, dreams, family and begin to plan how to do things better. Consider how to grow and learn about what you are already doing and how to do things better.

Time yourself in your daily tasks – not so they can be done more quickly, but so you can expect how long it will take in your daily routine.

Think about:

  • What do I want to do right now?
  • What do I want to be doing tomorrow?
  • What do I want to know more about?
  • What do I find interesting?
  • Where would I like to volunteer and help?

How can I do better…

  • with my family
  • organizing my house, kitchen, bedroom, desk, car
  • keeping up with day to day at work, at school, with homework and personal studies

These may seem like insignificant items, but they are clues how to manage your own life for your good.

I don’t believe living our own life with our own values, likes and dislikes should be hard to figure out. It becomes hard when we begin thinking how other people think we should live them.

Plan a good life for you and begin living it!

Encourage Yourself!

Yesterday I talked about encouraging others. Today I’m talking about you encouraging you!

Yes, we can and many times will have to encourage ourselves. There will be times you have to stand alone. Others will not be there for you. They will not see what you see. They will not have your vision, your principles or motivation. You will have to hold the line by yourself. Take courage! This will build fortitude (another word for strength) so you can go further, become stronger, last longer, endure more – (that doesn’t sound fun, it sounds like hardship involved!!!)

We’ll have to chew our own meat – no ground up baby food involved. But I’ve heard it said meat is for the strong. No carnivore diet spoken of intentionally here, but meat makes strong muscles and we’ll need them to weather our storms, mental, emotional, spiritual and physical.

So, you had the idea to build the first lighthouse at sea alerting ships to steer clear and not get dashed to pieces in the dark. ‘How are you going to do that’, somebody said. ‘You can’t, the surf is too strong, water too deep, tide comes in, you’ll get washed out’… and on and on.

Yet! Somebody kept at it. They planned and planned and thought and thought and tried and finally the first successful one was built and saved many lives. ‘I could never do that!’ Maybe not your area of expertise, but there is something that you and you alone can and need to do. You – yes you – plan and think and try things out until you succeed. Begin to encourage yourself more!

Now back to the lighthouse. No one built it completely by themselves, but there had to be an idea, maybe guarded at first until it could develop and ‘build up steam’, and then others became involved. It began with them.

Today I am not giving up on my plan, thought, dream to ….

The Safety of a Negative Mind

It’s not my fault! I knew it would happen! It was inevitable, out of my control!

The false safety of a negative mind.

It just coasts along, no responsibility, what will be will be… I’m just here for the ride and I’ll complain about stuff since it’s all out of my hands.

No worries…a Kuna ma tata. (or however it’s spelled)

(But I’m miserable this way).

That’s the real truth of it all. People want the freedom to direct their own lives, make their own decisions, but it takes effort on their part to think, plan, decide, compare this vs that… And so it becomes easier to let others do all the thinking for them and then complain about the results and be miserable.

This is the reason America came into being. People were tired of being told how and what to think, and all the things they couldn’t do. So they set sail in hopes of a better, howbeit much harder tomorrow, and obtained it.

This is the cost of freedom – brought about by a ‘we-can-do-it’ mind. It will always go against the current, clearing the path for others.

Let’s shake off the miserable false sense of security. Let’s take on our responsibility to go, be and do what we really want.

What can I plan on today?
