Men!

Today we’re going to talk about the men!

Why? ‘You are a woman!’ (I am, a woman- the writer)

We need men! Men out there, we need you!! Every one of you!!!

Without men, there would be no women. (and without women there would be no men)

But today is about our men! Amen to that!

We are all strong and have good ideas and capabilities, but each of our two genders are unique. Men have a different physique, a different mindset, way of thinking, planning, doing. They have a determination to see things through to the finish at all costs – even their own lives if need be. They are the protectors of their family and community. They know how to lead, guide, fight, hold steady and gently encourage, or stand strong with an iron will. They are good at reasoning together and coming to workable solutions.

‘Lady, I don’t know these men! Do they exist? Could I be one?’ If you’re a man, then yes! And be a good one. No shame in being a man. We need you to stand unashamedly strong!

I said it and I meant it. I am a mature woman and grandmother with lots of brothers, uncles, sons, friends in my life and I happen to like men. They are funny, goofy at times, strong, loving, stern, handsome, direct, caring, sometimes quiet, but they are men! And I thank God for them!

None of us are perfect – men or women. But we are trying to aim at being better!

Let’s not degrade ourselves or others or let them degrade us.

Be the man God made you to be. He will bless you. He will help you. He will strengthen you. He will encourage you and help you move ahead in your life. He is for you!

And so am I!

God bless every one of you men reading this today. Be encouraged!

The Trail

Each of our lives comes from a trail and leaves a trail.

Great Grandpa from northern Illinois was a wagon master on the Oregon Trail back in the 1800’s. My relatives along with others made the trip to Oregon City, Oregon. Some stayed, some came back, and some went back again.

We all have/need/want a known past; a place of belonging; to know where we ‘fit’ into the history of things. Did me or my family make a difference? What happened? What were the struggles and triumphs? What did they learn? What can I learn from my past? What do I have to pass on to my future families?

We want to belong to a tribe/clan/group. We want our ‘identifiers’ – this is my heritage -where I belong!

Some of us don’t know our past or had a bad past we don’t want to pass on. There is still a good future ahead for you. We can, beginning today, start a new trail to leave behind. In essence, we can create a new and better ‘past’ for ourselves and our families yet to come. Our past is not limited to what we don’t know or didn’t like. We have the opportunity to begin again, make better decisions, think up new ideas of what we’d like to see – and start now! We don’t have to wait to begin making a new trail to leave behind. We can clear the way so others can follow learning from what we went through.

So pick you a good past… something you might like to have lived, by picking and living a good present and future. You are the wagon master of your life.

Giddy up!

Get Healed of Your Hurts

Hurt people hurt other people. It’s that simple…doing unto others as you’ve had done unto you.

  • Malice seeks to hurt people.
  • Malice wants you to hurt yourself.
  • Malice wants us to hate and then justify why.
  • Malice is all about destruction and hurting others.

There is a book I read some years back, Hurt People Hurt People. It explains it very well.

If we allow ourselves to move past the hurt then:

  • Helped people can help people
  • Healed people can heal other people
  • Healthy people can cause healthy relationships

We all bring what we have to the table. What are we bringing to the table?

Maybe we can wipe the table clean. Forgive what needs to be forgiven and move forward to a better relationship with ourselves and others.

We can be healed. We can be free.
