The God Void Part II

This void will be filled…by something!

You will, we will seek to fill it. Holes are meant to be filled. We don’t like holes in things.

Roads get potholes. Woodwork has holes. Clothing gets holes. Even our yard gets holes from groundhogs and rodents. These all have to be filled somehow.

There are many things people use in an attempt to fill their ‘God-hole’. New stuff, activities, church, totem poles, meditation, the universe, spiritism, crystals, or something they have made themselves.

None of these things are made of the same material as you are. These artificial filler materials we try to use will pop loose and fail in the long run. The hole will still be there. God wants to fill the hole with worthy sturdy long lasting material. He wants to fill it with Himself. I know it sounds crazy. We can’t understand it, but when this hole is filled, you’ll never feel the same again.

There will be scars around the edges where the hole once was, but you’ve been made whole and stronger actually than you were before. You won’t have to seek filler materials for the hole you once had. Because you are whole.

Take the Risk!

Do you have any idea how many people have not been spoken to in a meaningful way by anyone today???

You might be one of them!

Let’s take the risk – and speak to – acknowledge one another. Everyone needs this gesture.

Covid 19 is past, but the after effects are long bearing. People have gone into and are still hiding! Help them come out into life again.

They may not be hiding behind a mask. It could be the phone, the EarPods, the laptop, the coffee cup, the outward busyness or preoccupation with whatever. I believe we have a responsibility to befriend our fellow human beings…even if only with a smile, or ‘Hi’ or opening the door, letting them go first in line…a multitude of ways to show them that others see them and are watching out for them…even if only for a moment. But that moment will last longer than a moment in the person who’s been in hiding. It will sink into their subconscious and begin to work.

Yes, there is work to be done and we need to be some of the workers in whatever capacity we find ourselves.

Take the risk. Do your work. Lead with this ‘work’ and transformation will happen!

I guarantee it will!

Making Things

I like making things and I like using things others have made.

How are things designed? How are things made?

Many good things are made with the user in mind…done with beauty, usability and ease of use and ease of repair. Therefore, what is designed and made should be made with the customer/user in mind, not just ease and profit in the making.

Good service, good product will always bring in good customers who will pay more for the better product.

Many times we’ve become accustomed to how things look at the expense of how they work or how long they’ll last. Do we want to spend our money on poor quality items based merely on how they look, that will soon need to be replaced, or pay more for well-designed good quality that will last?

I realize some items we won’t want to pay more for, but why not consider supporting makers of good quality rather than short term throwaways?
