Life-5

Life grows in the crags, the rocky places, the desolate. Life is determined to live!

Even in the dark, mushrooms grow, the depths of the sea have fish with their own light bulbs that live, survive and make more life way down there….6-7 miles deep, as high as a mountain is tall.

God makes life, man makes death…what is the problem?

Man doesn’t think he can live or make things better so he creates what he is familiar with…despair, defeat, destruction.

But, there is a lightbulb which is always left on for us to see through the darkness of life if we look. Life wants to grow and thrive anywhere it is allowed. Weeds are the first to break up dry hard ground so better plants can grow. Moss and ferns take root in craggy walls and slippery slopes gradually breaking down the clefts with their roots to make dirt for more life to grow and survive.

Life is all about beauty and meaning and purpose and making more life wherever we are. That’s because God is life and makes and gives life all over. That’s why we can breathe and walk and see and enjoy our gorgeous earth.

To try and stop life, however mankind may try… is to thwart God and He cannot be thwarted. He is for us, He is for life. He is for you! and your life!!!

Just stop focusing on the death and destruction being loud-mouthed all over the airwaves and begin to focus on how you can start and continue bringing life to your area, your rocky crag, your below sea-level domicile, your parched ground and see things begin to grow and change.

You can be a catalyst for life right where you are!

How can I be a life-bringer today?

Let’s keep the lightbulbs of life glowing so others can find their way with us.

Life-2

Live today! Live your life today. Take a good honest look at your surroundings, and find the life in them.

It might be one sprig of grass turning green, one small bud on a tree branch, a brand new shiny baby calf, or the ruby red horizon starting a brand new day.

Everywhere you look there is life going on…even your eyes looking at this text are evidence of life. We have been made for life to live, to enjoy life and express life to others.

Yesterday, the thought came to me, do we point others towards the beautiful, towards life? I want to be a pointer out of beauty, not pointing out the ugly, the distasteful, the unhappy things in life.

There is enough in the negative realm spoken; we need to counteract it with the truth of all the good that is really happening.

If my only commonality with you is talking/agreeing with how bad things are, that is part of a negative/destructive mindset not uplifting and building you up.

Today, let’s look and find good and beautiful life-filled things to notice, to talk about, to build ourselves up with and then point them out to others so they will be built up also.

The sun will be coming up in about an hour…we have time to get ready!

Let’s go!

Consumers and Creators

We are both consumers and creators…gotta keep this balanced though.

Don’t let our consumptions exceed our creations. If all we do is consume what another has made and don’t contribute our own makings, we can easily become inward focused… and life isn’t as fun.

Somehow, it adds to our lives when we do things for others; make things not only for ourselves, but think how our neighbor, or coworker could benefit from some creation of our doing.

When I was little, mom had a book called, “Make and Do”.  I Ioved that little book. Whenever I didn’t have anything to do, mother said to go get the Make and Do book and make something. I’d get busy and my brother and I would make a frog out of a washcloth rolled up here and there and tied with rubber bands. or we’d make play dough and shape a bowl of fruit.  Or make something out of paper plates or an egg carton. Then we’d give it to somebody else in the family.

These were nothing special, but the feeling of doing something with another person in mind to receive it was an important growth step for us. It’s something to keep practicing all our lives.

Can you think of someone in your life to make something for?

Make it, and see how you feel when you give it to them… and they say thank you!
