Afraid to Think!

Why??? God gave you your very own mind and you were created with a free will! Free to think!

But I don’t know what to think or how. This is something for you to think about. It’s easy to go through life letting others – high and low, tell us what to do and what to think, but you have a life to live and the freedom to think and decide on your own. Really, on the inside, you want to but don’t trust your own thoughts many times.

One of the best cures for this is to get alone, turn everything off and think. One of my favorite places to think was at the ironing board (what’s that?) or working in the flower bed with my hands in the dirt.

  • Think about the things you want to think about – one at a time.
  • Are these my thoughts?
  • Do I think they are true and beneficial?
  • How do I feel inside about this subject?
  • Think about others who have successfully navigated this.
  • Look to the examples from the past – from past centuries!
  • Read good books to become knowledgeable.
  • Talk about it with a very close friend – in person preferably.
  • Then think some more.

Good thinking is a process, takes time, careful observation, solitude and often change in ourselves.

YOU! Be the master of your own thoughts. Develop and grow and become who you really want to be. It’s your mind! And your life!

Plan Your Life

Yes! You plan your very own life!

Examine your life, your needs, responsibilities, wishes, dreams, family and begin to plan how to do things better. Consider how to grow and learn about what you are already doing and how to do things better.

Time yourself in your daily tasks – not so they can be done more quickly, but so you can expect how long it will take in your daily routine.

Think about:

  • What do I want to do right now?
  • What do I want to be doing tomorrow?
  • What do I want to know more about?
  • What do I find interesting?
  • Where would I like to volunteer and help?

How can I do better…

  • with my family
  • organizing my house, kitchen, bedroom, desk, car
  • keeping up with day to day at work, at school, with homework and personal studies

These may seem like insignificant items, but they are clues how to manage your own life for your good.

I don’t believe living our own life with our own values, likes and dislikes should be hard to figure out. It becomes hard when we begin thinking how other people think we should live them.

Plan a good life for you and begin living it!

Be Strong!

Sometimes I wonder if we allow others to overpower us because we are/were weak.

Because we’re too weak to stand up for ourselves to say what we think, to do what we need. Then when things don’t go as we hoped or wanted, we blame others

Do we request laws in an attempt to ‘force’ others to treat us a certain way…not to ‘talk to us this way’ …when we didn’t need another law; we only need to take responsibility and talk it out?

Why are we so afraid of human interaction? Why are we so fearful of conflict and being disliked?

Let’s choose to be strong, not giving our personal power over to another, but facing ourselves, facing others and learning to be the authority of our own life.
