What’s Wrong with Me Looking Good?

Most of the women I read about in God’s word were beautiful women. God made them – so it must be okay with Him.  Even the men were made strong and handsome.

Job 42 says of his 3 daughters, “There were none found so fair in all the land as Job’s daughters.” Incidentally, one of them was named Jemimah – remember Aunt Jemimah? Good things 🙂

I believe God wants his human beings to take time for themselves to look good, to put on a good face, to be attractive not only for themselves but for the world to notice. To let the beauty of God’s human creation show!

I’m not talking looking sexy, save that for your spouse. (That also is part of God’s design). But taking time for our more public appearance – man or woman – is part of our responsibility. Casual is okay, but why choose sloppy?

Plus, when we take care of ourselves we feel better!

Let’s start out this new week looking good!

God Conscience

God put his conscience for what is right and what is wrong inside each and every human being.

Because we are made by him in his image. Why? He wants us to succeed – to grow – to develop. He created a good world with good purposes for good people to live a good life with each other and to tend the good land.

This sounds like a fairy tale! Nevertheless, this was his original plan. But we can’t live and do his plan without him.

Maybe, just for today, we could ask him to help us with these things in our life and see what happens. Maybe, just maybe, he might help us.

And then…

Good and Evil

I believe good will ultimately overcome in the end. However, in the meantime…

Evil always seeks to overpower good. That’s why it is called evil.

  • It tries to defeat and destroy the good coming out from others.
  • It wants to be in charge/control.
  • It wants to be centerstage.
  • It wants all eyes on it and what it is doing.
  • It uses fears, threats, intimidations towards the innocent who are trying quietly, faithfully to do good.
  • It feels it won’t get any resistance back from them. They will quietly give in to the demands of it – not wanting to ‘disobey’ or cause a ‘scene’.
  • It is a bully – always pushing, shoving, scheming its next action to get its way.
  • It is very sneaky and wants you to do its work.
  • It will make you think you thought it up.
  • It will condemn you when you do it.
  • It will tell you it was your fault.
  • It will tell you-‘you are hopeless’.

Do not listen to its lies. You are stronger than it. Continue doing your good work.

God is for you.
