Do Not Despise the Past

Do not despise the past, your past or any past!

Without the past there would be no present and certainly no future!

Many, many things in the past have been upsetting, grievous or seemingly unfair. Many have been downright awful or even evil. But it happened and it cannot be eradicated. Burning and destroying things and people and people’s reputations will not compensate for what happened in the past. We must decide to learn from it and create or recreate a better today and tomorrow. And it starts with us on an individual basis.

Here again comes the phrase, ‘overcome evil with good’. This is how individuals on a personal level can begin. We must become builders of good – behavior, morals, conduct, charity, relationships, ideas of how to improve our landscape whether on the home front or at work or down the street, in our local government etc. etc. etc.

As we become bearers of truth – shining light on what is good and wholesome (what does that word mean?) we will shine light on the dark ways, see them for what they were, learn from them and continue building from the past the way to a better future.

Good and Evil

I believe good will ultimately overcome in the end. However, in the meantime…

Evil always seeks to overpower good. That’s why it is called evil.

  • It tries to defeat and destroy the good coming out from others.
  • It wants to be in charge/control.
  • It wants to be centerstage.
  • It wants all eyes on it and what it is doing.
  • It uses fears, threats, intimidations towards the innocent who are trying quietly, faithfully to do good.
  • It feels it won’t get any resistance back from them. They will quietly give in to the demands of it – not wanting to ‘disobey’ or cause a ‘scene’.
  • It is a bully – always pushing, shoving, scheming its next action to get its way.
  • It is very sneaky and wants you to do its work.
  • It will make you think you thought it up.
  • It will condemn you when you do it.
  • It will tell you it was your fault.
  • It will tell you-‘you are hopeless’.

Do not listen to its lies. You are stronger than it. Continue doing your good work.

God is for you.

Who Sees Who?

God sees. God sees everything!

He knows where everything is.

Sometimes I have lost or misplaced something, so I’ve asked God to show me where it is. Then a thought or mental picture will come to mind, and I’ll find it. Not always immediately, but it will happen.

He knows where every lost person is. He sees every stolen item or person. He knows where everything hidden in secret is hidden.

I am comforted knowing God sees everything. It’s also good for me to know this when tempted… to remember He is always watching.

He sees everything happening in the dark as well as in the light. He made the light and the dark.

Evil people may plot and plan in the dark and secret places, but even there God is watching. He sees it all. He knows who did what. Since he is fair and just, he will repay every man accordingly. He is no respecter of persons, but he does respect good versus evil.

I don’t need to worry about what I cannot control in others. If I keep myself in line, God will help me.

Do you think about these things too?
