My Stack

There is a stack of post-it notes by my laptop. It has been there for years…not the same papers in the pile, but the stack is still there.

Every day new thoughts emerge to share with my readers. Who knows where to start? So I jot them down …most of the time…so they aren’t forgotten and soon there are so many!

Today I begin again: (This came to me while I was making applesauce)

Read You Own Book!  (This is today’s post)

Your book is you. There are many chapters to your book. Which one are you on now? Which chapters have passed? Which chapters are you still living or trying to live in?

Books are written successively. One chapter leads to the next. We don’t write backwards. We write always moving forward because life moves forward. It is not to become stagnant.

Do not put your book – your life – back on some dusty old shelf not to be seen or read by anyone. Keep it open – the pages turning- writing new and better chapters of your explorations and points of interest. Make sure your book is as interesting as possible so you will want to keep writing. Others will see what you’ve written and want to read it, and you will want to remember how and what you did.

Keep working on your book. Keep working on you. Everyday our life is published somewhere.

One Size Fits All?

I’m not standardized! You aren’t either!

I don’t fit in! You’re not supposed to!

We are all humankind, male or female, yet we are unlike in so many other ways. What works for you might not work for me. I like country living; you love city life. I learn best by observation. You like the classroom. I like to get up early. You are a late morning person. I like talking with people; you’re more reserved. I am interested in color and words; you like numbers and engineering.

We need all of you. Every one of you and your likes and dislikes. We have a world full of people. You can help them. We all balance each other out.

Again, this boils down to discovering and accepting our likes and dislikes, our strengths and weaknesses. We can use this knowledge to help build others, to build ideas and see things someone else wouldn’t.

Don’t feel disqualified or tempted to find fault with someone unlike you. We need the unique contributions each brings to the table.

If there were no different colors, if all the trees were alike, all the flowers were the same, all the birds sang the same song, the food all tasted the same… 😦

Embrace who you are. Don’t feel you need to change to make someone else happy. Work on yourself. Be your best each day. It’s a growth process, but you will be rewarded. You will notice the change. Your gifts and talents will become stronger. You will become more comfortable with who you were made to be!

CAPTURE YOUR IMAGE

If you can get the right image in your mind, it will set the course of your life.

Your might not have a long gaze at the picture of what you want, but you can blink your eyes and retain it in your mind…referring back to it as often as needed.

It can become the compass of what you wish to become.

Every day we need to look again, reviewing the images floating across our mind …determined only to look and see the pictures of what we hope for, are becoming and want to be.

Capture your image this morning.

Wear it all day.
