Forgotten Victories

Nothing is going right! Not a thing! Today is downhill!!

Oh really? Have you forgotten something? Have you forgotten your previous victories?

Previous victories mean there are more to come. We need to put a pause on the downcast moment of the present and recall the triumphs of the past.

Remember when?

  • You got your first job
  • You earned your first paycheck
  • You passed your driver’s license test
  • You graduated from high school or college
  • You found a wonderful spouse
  • Your first baby was born
  • Your good idea earned you a promotion
  • You overcame a long-standing bad habit
  • You learned a new language
  • You learned a new skill
  • You figured out a difficult situation
  • You made the right decision in a very hard moment, and it was the best decision

‘Oh, yeah, I forgot about all of these. I guess I have had a lot of victories in the past.’

Don’t let these remain forgotten. Pick a time and write them down for remembrance sake. Keep a file of all the positive emails or correspondence you’ve received so when the ‘Nothing’s going right’ strike, you have a rebuttal against them.

Our Pasts

A stopping point or a stepping stone?

Everyone has a past….most are riddled with hard times, disappointments and loss.

“Everything was trying and difficult, there is no hope of something different for me up ahead.”

OR, is the past your stepping stone to a better, different, more fulling future?

Could you become the artist of your own life…paint it into the picture of your liking…make it an original creation of your own hands… or is it up to fate, luck, somebody else or ‘circumstances beyond your control’?

A painter begins with only 3 colors…red, yellow and blue.

‘I can’t paint something unique and different with only these 3 colors!” He has come to a stopping point.

“With theses 3 colors, I can blend and mix and match into a zillion new colors never seen before!!!” He has come to a stepping stone.

Move from, “I only have…” to “with what I have I can…” and watch what will come out of it.

Our past does not mean a dead-end to our future, it is only a jumping point to a brand new beginning, and another beginning, and another…

It’s fun to jump off the diving board into fresh new waters, into a new experience, a whole new life.

Where do you need to step, jump or dive into your new you, your new future? …and when you come out of the water, you’ll be a fresh, clean, brand new person… ready to begin again!

1, 2, 3….JUMP!

The Chrysalis

Currently I’m in a state of chrysalis.

I got tired of being a caterpillar crawling around chewing on leaves. I wanted to see changes in my life. The only way to become a butterfly flying freely whenever and wherever, is to go through the metaphorical process of the chrysalis!

Big words yes, but big results!

Sometimes the chrysalis stage can be so difficult, so taxing … so like we just want to burst out of where we are, but cannot quite do it …we aren’t quite ready , but we are growing and developing.

The churning inside, pushing away from the old past…stretching and leaning…yearning towards the new …to what we want to become… at times seems too great!

That’s what every other butterfly had to do and they came out successfully, and we will too… if we stick with the process. Then, when we look back, it won’t seem that long we were in the transformation. It will be so rewarding! We will be so glad we endured through the process.

I am hanging in there through my chrysalis of becoming a better me.

What are you pushing through right now that seems impossible?

Keep pushing; you will find the way!
