The God Void

There is a void in each of us that can only be filled by a spiritual presence.

We are a body, soul, spirit combination. We were made this way – to seek out – to wonder how we got here – what am I here for??? Just as a child is drawn to seek out who his earthly father is, so also, he is drawn to know the Higher ‘Who’ – the Who who started everything around him.

Mankind is terribly interested in genealogy…to go back as far as he can to discover his roots…to know the different countries and civilizations he came from. We want to know our origin. We want to know the first place. We want to know where we belong! What was the soil of our land, what waters did we drink from? What was our home life and shelter like? Where were they from???

These are natural normal questions to ask and need to be asked. We have a right to know. It’s a God given desire to know and He gives us the answer. He doesn’t want us clueless! So, first things first…in the very beginning. All the little creeks, streams, tributaries and rivers of humanity lead back to one pair – Adam and Eve. They lived in a garden. It was called the Garden of Eden, designed and put together by God Himself. For whom? For God? No! – for mankind – His highest creature.

The void we feel can only be filled when we know the answer. Who am I and where did I come from. Why am I here?

We are persons and God sent a person – Jesus- God in and as a real person like us to show us who God is. So if we claim Him, He will claim us. We will become part of the family of God.

The hole inside of us can be filled. We can begin to feel good about ourselves, get unstuck and keep moving forward.

Green Pastures-2

Music. If you listen in the green pastures there is a lot of music and song.

Every kind of bird has its own tune to sing. The spring-peeper frogs sing loudly together on a warm spring morning. Baby calves, goats, sheep, chicks all sing their own song because they are happy, or hungry or glad to run and play. Even the streams and waterways have a song.

We humans have a song to sing also. In our green-pastures of mind what songs do you hear playing? Tune in to the frequency of thanksgiving and happiness.

What I really hope is you won’t give up your song of peace, joy and happiness, no matter how you feel. Actually you can make yourself feel better by keeping a happy song in your heart all the time. If when, you get really quiet, there is no song playing inside, you might need to reconnect with your music. I had an aunt who was always humming quietly, no matter what she was doing, throughout her day whenever I got close to her, I could hear her humming. She was always at peace and I wanted to be just like her.

Some of us might be whistlers. My father and brothers, (even myself included) loved to whistle tunes throughout our day working inside and out. Many make music with guitars, pianos, drums, string instruments and brass.

Keep your music going. Don’t let other people quench your song. A merry heart will do you and others good. Joy is your strength and often it comes through your own song.

Can you hear the music now playing in your green-pasture? Turn it up and enjoy your day!
