New to New to New

We’re not going to be stuck in our old. Everyday is new!

Every morning when we wake up, there is a new frontier ahead of us …waiting for us to claim! To explore, conquer, tame, build upon, improve, develop…

The past, your past, my past is over and we have today to look at. How do we want to see it? It’s only a thought away from what we want to let it become.

No one, absolutely on one can hold us to our past. We are free to break from it any time we choose.

Begin this morning to think and plan a new way of living, something very fulfilling.

There are no strings attached to your past. Yes, we may have some things to deal with, but the past is over and we have new choices to make, exciting times to think and plan.

The words on the chalkboard from your past have been erased. It is waiting for you to write new words about yourself.

‘I could never do that! You don’t know my past!’ BUT everyone has a past filled with possible regrets because we are all human! BUT GOD gives us the opportunity each and every day to begin again and start with a new slate, and tomorrow with another new slate and the next day with a fresh one yet again!

God has given us the choice to choose life. No one can take it from us, me or you!

Look ahead to your new day. Begin moving forward. There will be up hills and down hills, but momentum is gained with every step.

Don’t turn back or stay stuck in the camp.

It’s onward today, to the new, to the new, to the new!!!

What is my first step today?

‘People Pain’

Of all the types of pain in the world, it seems the worst one to endure and the hardest one to deal with is people-pain.

This morning at work a man came into the office so angry about something, that I wasn’t sure what was on his mind. I greeted him with kind words and then he, without saying a word or changing his expression, threw his paperwork over the counter at me and turned and left. I told him thank you and wished him a good day, just as I would anyone else coming in the office.

A gentle answer turns away wrath.

For him, this is normal behavior. He seems not to know joy, peace, kindness and that saddens me. He must be holding onto pain and bitterness from something long ago.

The thought came to me while eating lunch, ‘People have to free themselves of their pain.’ Whether they take it out on someone else or themselves, they have a need to rid themselves of their pain. Of course the ways many people try to do this doesn’t give genuine relief; it may just be enough to keep the pressure cooker from exploding inside them.

I thought, ‘God did not create His creation to endure pain and suffering…especially emotional pain and what I now call ‘people-pain’…pain caused through relationships with others.

Yes, we will have to endure people-pain and all sorts of emotional pain and suffering while we live on this planet; however, God did not intend us to bear it alone.

God provided a way to get rid of the burden of pain and suffering caused in our relationships with others. We have to take it all to Jesus. He says, “Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately andcares about you watchfully.” I Peter 5:7 AMP.

We have to give it up; give the people causing pain up; say to God, “I can’t take it any longer! You deal with it for me.’

He is there to help you in your time of trouble.

Jesus is our pain killer. He bore it so we didn’t have to. We will have many, many pains and cares, troubles and worries every day, and His shoulders are big enough to handle them all!

Every single pain!!!

God didn’t make you to bear the pain. He said, “I will.” But you have to give it to Him first. You have to know He cares and that you can take it all to Jesus and He won’t make fun of you for coming, or chastise you for not being strong on your own. He says, “Come to Me.”

I’m praying for that man to take it to Jesus so he can be free. Yes it is his choice, but I am still praying for him to make that good choice.

How do you handle your ‘people-pain’?

Positive People

Most of us like being around positive people; most of us think we are positive people.

Did you know God wants us to be positive people? He created that desire in our lives. He is a positive God and He wants us to be positive people. ‘Yeah but’ and ‘what about’ you start to say. Nope, the choice is ours. God said to choose this day, to choose life, to choose to believe.

Without even realizing it many times we slide over into the negative and let that affect us, our decisions and our families.

People secretly want to be positive since that’s the way we’re designed, but often give in to negative out of fear of bad happening if they get too positive, too happy, too joyful, too expectant of good things in their lives,  so they ‘play it safe’ and stay either neutral or negative. ‘I don’t want to get my hopes up and then they get dashed to the ground.’ And so, all the joy is sucked right out of their lives under the guise of playing it safe. It’s no fun to live like that!

Then to keep ourselves ‘safe’, we try to tone down other’s excitement lest we get excited too and that might cause a ‘scene’. What would people think if I were actually happy every day?  Bah, Humbug isn’t only around at Christmas time. We have to guard against him on a daily basis!

A joyful, happy, merry heart does good like a medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.

Happiness, joy, positive attitudes and good health go hand in hand.

Don’t miss out on your good life.

Take it.

It’s yours.

Start today…be positive and good towards yourself!
