Particles of Gold

Gold is valuable, but it takes considerable effort to find it, refine it, and combine it into a pin or ring.

That’s us! We all have many, many particles of gold within, but it takes effort….considerable effort to find it, refine it and make it into something. It will be a lifelong process, mining it out, and often we’ll need other gold-diggers (friends etc) to help us find the veins in us and dig them out!

Each of us has intrinsic value and worth that this world, our family, our workplaces, other people need for us to bring to the surface and offer in exchange to meet not only their needs but ours.

I give you a piece of my gold, shaped like a pillow I made that you want, in exchange for a piece of your gold, shaped like a bookshelf I want that you made.

I am a pie baker, that’s my gold, which you need for your dinner, so you give me some of your gold in exchange.

You have a golden idea to help my business, so I give you some of my gold for your idea.

I raise cattle, that’s my gold, to sell to your restaurant for your customers in exchange for their gold while they enjoy your meal.

I can’t sew my pillow without the sewing machine you designed and made because you knew someone would need one to make the pillow you might want!

It’s a circle of provision…finding, combining, delivering, meeting needs improving upon, developing another idea, a better product, adding more of your gold combined with some of mine….

Let’s gold mine together and capture every particle and bring them out and build together a better world!

Recreaters/Recreators?

Why do we want to replicate things we like? A colorful meadow, an oak tree, a clear blue sky, a shimmering lake, a blazing sunrise/set, a mountain range…

Our recreation can tun into a new hobby/business recreating what we enjoy doing, seeing, relaxing in.

God is the beginning Creator, He made us in his image, that’s why we like to create and make things, it’s part of our heavenly DNA.

God’s not upset when we make something stunning and tell everyone, “I made this!”

It’s not prideful, it’s simply acknowledging and showing off the gift God gave. God likes when his creative people do what he created them to…continue on the process he began…making, creating, spreading life and good all around.

Then we divide it up. pass it around and begin the process all over.

Let your rec-reation turn into your re-creation.

What interests you? What do you like to do?

What is something I can make today and share with somebody to make their day?

The Parking Lot

Where I work we will be having a 50 year anniversary celebration. 1970 was the groundbreaking year for our public service building.

The parking lot, also being that old, had a big hole developing in the concrete-right as you pull in and drive out.

Several contractors were asked to come take a look and give an estimate but never showed up. A fellow citizen of the community saw the need and was having some concrete work done in his nearby garage.

Today when I pulled in the parking lot, up drove a cement mixer and three men. They quickly removed all the broken concrete pieces and within 15 minutes the sinking hole was filled, leveled and smoothed, and surrounded by the same citizen’s sawhorses to shield the work while it set up.

I went to thank him, and all he said was, ‘the men had to clean out the mixer, and I said, ‘we’re going to fill the hole in the parking lot’.”

It cost our business nothing; it didn’t really cost him anything except his time and effort, yet what he did will continue to spread good will among our small community.

He decided to make it his project. It made a great impact on our little town.

His action motivates me.

What can you do to benefit your city, your town, your neighborhood, your street, your yard, your home… to elevate morale and show care for others?

Be on the lookout. Then take action.
