The Safety of a Negative Mind

It’s not my fault! I knew it would happen! It was inevitable, out of my control!

The false safety of a negative mind.

It just coasts along, no responsibility, what will be will be… I’m just here for the ride and I’ll complain about stuff since it’s all out of my hands.

No worries…a Kuna ma tata. (or however it’s spelled)

(But I’m miserable this way).

That’s the real truth of it all. People want the freedom to direct their own lives, make their own decisions, but it takes effort on their part to think, plan, decide, compare this vs that… And so it becomes easier to let others do all the thinking for them and then complain about the results and be miserable.

This is the reason America came into being. People were tired of being told how and what to think, and all the things they couldn’t do. So they set sail in hopes of a better, howbeit much harder tomorrow, and obtained it.

This is the cost of freedom – brought about by a ‘we-can-do-it’ mind. It will always go against the current, clearing the path for others.

Let’s shake off the miserable false sense of security. Let’s take on our responsibility to go, be and do what we really want.

What can I plan on today?

This Memorial Day

We are free today because of another’s loss on this Memorial Day.

Let’s not let our veterans’ loss, who willingly gave their lives so we could be free, go in vain.

Yes, we mourn the loss of those lives, they were our own flesh and blood, brother, sister, father, mother, aunt and uncle, neighbor and friend.

Yet I don’t believe they want us stuck in a state of mourning over them, they would want us living daily in the victory they fought and gave their lives for us to have.

Today and always let us remember to keep the hard fought-for freedoms our ancestors died so we could have.

They were looking ahead toward future generations and their well-being of life, of liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

What is one thing I can be thankful today because of their loss for my gain?

What is one thing I can do going forward to continue this freedom for my family and future generations?

America!

America is great because God made her great…..because we made God great!

Throughout the centuries, any time a people, or a person or a nation has honored, credited God for his presence and help, God in turn has helped and honored them.

As they take a step towards him, he will take two steps towards them. That’s the kind of God he is, always there, ready to help and looking ahead of us. While we’re stumbling along he is already there with the help and the solution.

In spite of the doomsday-sayers, there is great hope for any nation, any people, any person who will simply say, “Help me, God!”

People think of God as a get-even, mean, pay-you-back for what you deserve type God, but that is religion’s god, not the real God.

God is for us, for his creation and for all the peoples that he made, who live all over the globe. He is not a God of destruction, rather a God of creation, creating good in everything he does…and that is his intention for us and for our work, lives, families.

Can we do it?

Absolutely yes!

It starts with a change of mind…what is one good thing I can do today, what is one good think I can do right now?

What is one teeny-tiny step in the right direction I could take today to make better something I’ve noticed?

We people tend to be followers; what if we cause people to follow us in the right direction….what if we all banded together in our communities, put aside our differences, rolled up our sleeves and helped one another?

We would experience change!

Now GO! Change your day! Change your neighborhood! Change your life!
