When a people are under God…going to him for help and guidance, they are better people, and the world becomes a better place.

America started out as one nation under God.

• She became a safe haven for battered people from all over the world…and people are still coming.
• Her people had great ideas and wealth to improve the lives of many…and are still helping.
• Her land is beautiful and will grow any kind of crop.
• Her land is filled with an abundance of natural resources.
• She is one of the most diverse and welcoming nations on earth.
• Her people were free to live the kind of life they dreamed.
• Every small town and hamlet had a church filled with people who gathered every week and prayed for strength and the good of each other.
• Because:
• God wanted to live and breathe through those people.
• So they could help and do good in all the world.
• So all the peoples would see there is a God.
• So all the peoples could see He is good, and He is loving, and He does care about His world. Because they saw it through her.

So if we decide to live our lives with Him and trust Him and do good…

It will be well with us, and He will fight our battles for us.

When the skies are grayest, then light shines the brightest.

When you feel the gloomiest and most down, turn your smile on and look for ways to do good to somebody else and watch what happens. Pick one person to do good to.

The darkness will part and you will experience happiness.

Watch for it.

Let’s not be be too easy on ourselves.

Folks, there’s people watching us all the time; how we act, how we react, what we say, what we do…and the kids are always watching…wondering how adults are going to do things –  deciding how they will model their behavior – always somebody looking!!!

• Well she did it – so I can too!
• He got away with that behavior, I think maybe…
• Why should I park straight in the parking spot; it’s handicapped parking; I have a handicap tag!
• Stoplight may have turned red, but I’ve been waitin’ in line long enough, I’m goin’ anyway!
• I’m a senior citizen, people should defer to me!
• He was rude to me; I’ll be rude back…I don’t know them so….
• My work isn’t that important, I’ll let that task slide. It won’t make any difference.
• I’m only a few minutes late for work (25% of the time)
• I’ll exercise tomorrow.
• Tomorrow I’ll clean the kitchen…

And on and on and the little things multiply until soon we have allowed ourselves to become soft, thing start to bother us, we get all out of whack and wonder why ?!

BUT!!! We’re always only 1 decision away from taking better care of ourselves, being a better person, becoming more thoughtful, considerate, helpful…just plain feeling better as a human being!

I wrestle with these things every day too.

(But I am aware somebody who needs a good example might be watching…) (I hope not to let them down.)
