Pamper Yourself!

We’re not talking over self-indulgence here, we’re talking loving self-care.

I have a physical body, you have a physical body. We have nails, teeth, skin, eyes, hair that need to be tended to. When you think pamper, think baby. They need lots of TLC, and we give it to them so they grow strong and healthy. Don’t think pampering your adult self is unimportant, underserving, unworthy or even unnecessary.

How often have we put off good care of ourselves thinking, ‘It’s not important, I’ll be OK…just this one time I’ll…and we ignore good care of our only body and wonder why when we accumulate some years that things start to ‘break down’.

Pampering tips:

  • Put good wholesome fuel into your body… for more power under the hood
  • Take yourself through a good wash and dry regularly… to avoid rusting out
  • Keep shined up… so others will like to see you coming
  • Keep your headlights clean and clear… so you can see where you’re going
  • For better gas mileage, carry less in your trunk…longer engine life
  • Drive enough to keep all parts moving easily…prevents sudden breakdowns
  • Park at night to rest your engine fully…will have plenty of steam for tomorrow.

See if these help you; they have worked for me 🙂

It is About You!

Different take on the above phrase…lots of comments how ‘it’s not about you’….but in a way it is!

You and you alone determine the decisions you will make, the thoughts you will think, the places you choose to go, friends you keep, clothes to wear, job you work, food you eat, exercises you do or don’t do, how you keep your body and hair…

You determine how far you advance and grow yourself in any given area of your choice.

  1. You determine if you keep learning.
  2. You determine if you keep growing.
  3. You determine if you will be friendly or not.
  4. You determine if you will follow up with other people.
  5. You determine if you will be thankful.
  6. You determine if you will be helpful.
  7. You determine if you will be happy or sad, angry and mad.
  8. You determine if you keep moving forward or stay in a rut.
  9. You determine to keep or break a habit.
  10. You determine to start a new path.

See…it really is all about you 🙂

You have the power. The tools are at your disposal. Seek them out. Use them.

Become a better you!

The Fight for Good

We are in a fight every single day with something, over something, for something!!!

WHY???

We’re human beings, different likes and dislikes, loves and hates, tastes and opinions. Somehow we gotta get along! It’s going to be a fight mentally – quite often – to be a peacemaker when we really want to tell somebody off, or run ’em off! (the road maybe…).

Lots of patience (your kids will teach it to you)…doing what you don’t want to do because you know it’s what you need to do.

Even when you try to do a good thing there will be a fight…’you’re only doing this because you have to’, ‘people will know you’re not being genuine’, ‘you’re a little miss goodie two shoes’, ‘who you tryin’ to impress?’, and on and on the thoughts and accusations go until you finally (but hopefully not) give in and give up!

We were made to do good works to help other human beings in each arena of life – big or small!

But with each fight won, we’ll feel a little better about ourselves, become a better person, be stronger, ready for the next fight!

Go! Fight! Win!
