Keep in the Sunlight

Is sunlight bad for you as many people say?

What can sunlight do?

  • It gives us vitamin D naturally, which is necessary for strong bones.
  • Sunlight dries up skin conditions and helps heal wounds.
  • Sunlight makes us happier, brightens the day. It energizes us.
  • Sunlight helps us see better. We notice things needing improvement, or an area overlooked on a project. It shows all!
  • It sanitizes and sterilizes whatever it touches – better than bleach. It purifies and whitens dingy clothing and sheets.
  • It freshens bed pillows, mattresses and dries clothes.

These are all physical things, but we need another type sunlight…the type we shine on ourselves or let others with sunlight shine on us. This sunlight will keep us encouraged when we are down, will direct us when we can’t see forward from backward, and will  keep us out of pitfalls and potholes, quicksands and tarpits… all things less visible in the dark…all things lurking to trip us up, defeat us, even destroy us if possible.

Keep in the sunlight, and keep your sunlight on for others.

Words

I have words to say – words to say to you – to comfort, encourage, build up.

Words are powerful. They are power tools!

They not only can comfort and encourage, exhort and admonish, but they also can be used for ill – to criticize, control, harm and hurt.

Listen to the words you say.

Listen to the words others say to you.

We cannot control what others say, but we can control how we let them affect us. Yes, there have been many people in my life and yours who have said hurtful, hateful things. But the good news is we don’t have to become or remain a victim to their words. We have been given a choice.

Just as they chose to say what they felt, we have the choice to ignore, brush off, refuse what they tried to impart on us with their words.

We are not at their mercy!

We can be stronger! We have a free will, just as they do, and we can choose not to accept what they say over or to us.

Watch. Words.
