Get the Gears Moving Again!

When equipment hasn’t been moved for some time, the grease sets up and the gears become stiff. The grease has hardened and it takes lots of effort to get them moving again.

I read stories about coal cars coming and going from the mines of Vorkuta, Russia where temps got to -40*. The wheels on the cars if not kept moving would freeze and no longer turn until with great strength they were pushed to re-lubricate them.

So it is with us If we’re moving forward and we come to a stop, it takes momentum to get us moving again….sometimes a lot of momentum. This applies to any project or area of study. Whatever plan we are working on, once we stop, it’s easier just to stay stopped…than it is to start again.

I believe it’s time for us to get the gears moving again in our minds and thoughts and take up those projects, studies and plans we left side railed on the tracks.

What do you need to get moving again in your life?

You ARE a Leader

Whether you realize it or not, someone is following you, someone is watching you. That makes you a leader.

Some little boy is looking at you and your actions. Some little girl is looking at you and your actions. They are listening to your every word.

You are a leader – setting an example, whether for good or bad, for others to be just like you:

  • while you are driving your car
  • waiting in the drive up window line
  • at the cash register
  • when you are talking on the phone
  • how you talk to your family
  • how you take care of your possessions
  • how you take care of another person’s possessions
  • how you manage at your job
  • what kind of work you do
  • how you dress yourself
  • how you take care of yourself

We are all leading because someone is always following – even if we never see them. Make what you do and say something worth causing another to follow your example.

Don’t let yourself get away with bad behavior or making bad decisions thinking ‘well everyone else is doing this’, or ‘it’s just this one time only’.

No, you be the bigger person. Be the good leader. The kind of leader you in your heart of hearts would want to follow.

How can I do better today?

Little by Little

Drive the enemies out of your land little by little.

Like pulling crabgrass or weeds one weed at a time. Before long you have a nice clean path, and you can see where you’re walking. It will have a snowball effect as you gain more ground.

Conquer the enemies trying to take over inside you! That is a win!! If we can conquer what is trying to take over on the inside, we can deal more effectively with enemies coming from the outside.

In our hearts, if we each band together and decide to conquer the enemies in ourselves, we will begin to clear a wider path. Others deciding to follow can find the way, we will see better and see farther.

Pull up the tiniest weeds before they get big – sending out runners requiring a shovel to remove. Do not let them invade your territory!

This is serious business folks! Many enemies of thought, word and deed would like to take over you – and your thoughts, words and deeds making you ineffective, inactive, stagnant and drawing others into your quagmire! (Family included!!)

This fight has been raging for centuries. It is nothing new. The war between good and evil, right and wrong, moral and immoral, moving forward or moving backward, gaining ground or losing ground. All these are decisions we must make daily and hourly.

Keep your fortifications strong. You have yourself and your family to guard. Be vigilant! Good and right will prevail ultimately. Let it be true for you currently. The rewards are great and definitely worthwhile!

Now – GO – FIGHT  – WIN!!!
