Made to Be Free

We were made to be free!

Made to be a free people to think what we like, to make what we like, to build what we like to benefit us, our families and our communities and make them strong.

People who are not free or don’t know they can be free are jealous of those who are free and try to hold them back to prevent their freedoms. They don’t want them to be free.

Misery loves company. When we’re not free, we don’t want to be alone in our misery. We want to have others with us.

Why not decide to be free and invite others into that space?… The space where you can think good, make good, do good and be strong together.

This can become quite a unified force to make wrong things right.

Accepted By You

Do you accept yourself? Are you accepted by you?

No large painting or detailed sewing project is completed in one day. It takes time and contemplation. It’s an ongoing process with much effort involved.

It’s the same with us. We won’t be where we want to be in one day. Don’t give up because the process takes time – that’s why it’s called a process. It takes time, effort and energy.

We’re not a drive-through delivery. We’re more the slow-cooker.

Be patient with yourself. Allow yourself time to learn new things, to grow and develop. Time will not speed up or slow down.

Think of all the things we like that take time to be the best: sauerkraut, sourdough bread, pickles, marinades, wines, curing time for concrete, paint finishes, molten glass and metals to cool, bird eggs to hatch, water to boil, green beans to can, clothes to dry, packages to arrive, oceans to cross, fish to catch, flowers to grow…

We humans are the most complex of God’s creation, and he said were his best work. Why do we think we are unacceptable and slow and clumsy. We are not living a futile life. It is a valuable life. Accept this about yourself. I am an unfinished person, on a journey, hoping to be the right kind of person for where I am. With God’s help I will achieve what is in store for me. I will be at peace with myself, not get upset with myself and in the meantime help others where I can.

Will you accept yourself today?

The Safety of a Negative Mind

It’s not my fault! I knew it would happen! It was inevitable, out of my control!

The false safety of a negative mind.

It just coasts along, no responsibility, what will be will be… I’m just here for the ride and I’ll complain about stuff since it’s all out of my hands.

No worries…a Kuna ma tata. (or however it’s spelled)

(But I’m miserable this way).

That’s the real truth of it all. People want the freedom to direct their own lives, make their own decisions, but it takes effort on their part to think, plan, decide, compare this vs that… And so it becomes easier to let others do all the thinking for them and then complain about the results and be miserable.

This is the reason America came into being. People were tired of being told how and what to think, and all the things they couldn’t do. So they set sail in hopes of a better, howbeit much harder tomorrow, and obtained it.

This is the cost of freedom – brought about by a ‘we-can-do-it’ mind. It will always go against the current, clearing the path for others.

Let’s shake off the miserable false sense of security. Let’s take on our responsibility to go, be and do what we really want.

What can I plan on today?
