Wash Your Windows

Trying to gain clarity this morning on a few things as I head in a new direction…

I heard on a recent podcast that becoming who we are is really a process of unbecoming everything that is not me.

Then I heard myself say, “I need to wash the windows in my life.”

‘Wash the windows in my life…’

I guess if I need clarity, I need to see clearly…which means I just might need to wash away some things clouding the view.

…and if you’ve ever washed windows, especially dirty ones, it can take several washes and wipings to get them clean.

Just gonna keep washing… ’till I see better.

Opposites

Can’t decide between two different things?

Put them together and see what happens!

Red + blue = purple

Blue + yellow = green

Yellow + red = orange

Old + New = Vintage modern

Big dots go with small stripes

Little dots go with large stripes

Big leaves go with little leaves

Rough goes with smooth

Hard goes with soft

It’s about contrast, proportion, scale, size, value, depth, intensity…all mixed together in different ways.

Tall goes with short

Wide goes with narrow

Now, go make something fun, and enjoy doing it!

Sunday!

So many good thoughts associated with this word…Sunday!

The first day of a brand new week.

A full day off work (used to be anyway).

Time to plan a better week than last week.

Sunday begins with the word sun, so automatically we think brightly.

A day for family gatherings.

A day for some home cooking.

A day to begin or finish a project we’ve been thinking about.

A day to thank God and remember all the good things he has done for us.

A day to talk to distant relatives and friends.

A day to be refreshed.

Happy Sunday to you!
