The Human Vending Machine

This thought just now popped into my mind…’human vending machine’…

Is that all some of us feel we are, or are letting ourselves become?

Are we allowing others to ‘put money into us’ and take out of us what they want without our genuine approval?

This could go in a multitude of ways…in our job, in our family, in our friend relationships, etc., etc., etc.

Think about it…have we lost our humanity and become a vending machine where we allow others, no matter what their rank or status to stand before us and tell us what they want and we give it to them no questions asked?

Yes, we are to be giving, loving, helpful and serving others, but to be treated like a disposable machine with no say-so, no opinion of our own, only following the will of others is not how we were designed.

We each are a unique valuable piece of God’s creation with a purpose. We are not another cog in the wheel that can be replaced if broken off and discarded.

Every single one of us…you included!!!…has value and an output to give in this world that is your own style, with your trademark on it to be used to benefit this world.

You were not designed… created… to be a mere follow-a-longer, but to offer input, a different perspective, a good suggestion, a new way of doing the same old things.

You are not to quench or allow others to quench the you in you!

You have a right to think, and a right to speak up for yourself without another’s approval.

We do not have a right to withhold the good inside of us from coming out because someone else might not like it.

Remember, you are not a human vending machine, only giving out what others want or say. You are a human being with a free will and mind to use and develop and grow to become a strong and better person and help others become better stronger human beings, if in no other way than by watching you.

We have a big responsibility don’t we? But we are up for the challenge!

What I Saw Today

Today I saw people doing many good things.

  • People donating to the Goodwill
  • Moms with kids at the farmer’s market
  • High School students running for track
  • Two happy college girls working at Crew carwash
  • A state trooper detailing his car after his car wash
  • People outside sharing ice-cream together
  • A young lady gathering up trash at her workplace
  • A driver letting another ahead of him in his lane
  • People going to the ‘Y’ to work out

None of the above will make the news, but they are ordinary everyday good that everyone is doing.

Let’s look  today expecting to see good, to notice other people doing good.

Let’s let these images dominate in our minds.

Let’s let good permeate our day.

What’s the first good thing I see today?

Let’s Do New!

Nothing seems to get me out of a rut quicker than to try something new!

The blah of  the same ole, same ole gets lifeless and boring, we tend to lose energy…(that will be an idea for another blog post)…and become even less motivated. It’s crazy how one area of life affects the other.

Without spending any money, pause to contemplate how to rearrange your living space or bedroom…probably will have to rehang some pictures, or maybe add some new ones. Move a plant from here to there or bring in a chair or desk from another room. Pull out Grandma’s dishes and use for everyday. Throw a colorful old table cloth over a chair for a temporary slipcover effect. Line your books up along the baseboard for instant library shelving.

Cut out fun patterned giftwrap into shapes and glue-stick it on your wall for backsplash beauty or run it along the top of the walls for color with out expense. It will draw the eye up and make the ceilings appear taller. (PS they will peel off easily leaving no residue)

These were a couple projects I did this week. Boy, does it feel better everytime I come home and enter my ‘new’ rooms!

All the time, my mind is thinking of new ideas to try, and so I do! One idea is a springboard to another, making life so much more fun.

What would you like to do to change up your habitation, your work space, garage, office, patio? You’ve already got everything you need.

Take your idea and move forward! Good bye to the doldrums!

We’re going to be happy in our lives 🙂
