Pile of Thoughts

Earlier this week someone said they liked my post. I told them it was one from my pile of thoughts.

There are so many thoughts that come and go, I try to capture the good ones and write them down before they disappear.

It seems they need to be acknowledged from mind to pen to paper…or spoken into the phone… or they are lost!

Written down on small scraps of paper, in notebooks, on tablets of paper, post-it notes, napkins, whatever is handy when the thought appears. I have upgraded to using notes on my phone…just love the talk/txt feature!

Good thoughts need to be shared to encourage other people.

Do you capture your good thoughts? Sometimes the person who needs encouragement is us! Then we can look at them later and help ourselves…

Good Heart vs Bad Heart

There are far more people with good hearts in our world. They see a wrong done and want to make it right. They see a person in need and want to help.

Yet Bad always wants to quench the Good out/ of us through fear, intimidation, unforgiveness, neglect etc.

I can’t help that person, what would other people think?

I can’t help them after what they did to so and so!

If I help them what would my friends think.

Those people aren’t from my current associations.

I don’t have time.

Instead, let Good over power Bad.

Good will always stifle Bad if we allow it!

I’m going to help them. It doesn’t matter what somebody else thinks. If it was me, I’d be thankful for their help.

I will lay aside what they did to so and so, forgive and show goodness to them. Maybe it will melt their heart.

If my friends don’t like me helping out, then maybe I need new friends.

Our blood is all the same color and we’re all human beings, so Yes, I will help them.

I may be busy, but this will only take a portion of my time and we will both be better off.

See…it’s in you. God put his heart of goodness in you.

Now we gotta let out of our heart what is really in it.

Begin to overpower the bad with good—though you!

Consumers and Creators

We are both consumers and creators…gotta keep this balanced though.

Don’t let our consumptions exceed our creations. If all we do is consume what another has made and don’t contribute our own makings, we can easily become inward focused… and life isn’t as fun.

Somehow, it adds to our lives when we do things for others; make things not only for ourselves, but think how our neighbor, or coworker could benefit from some creation of our doing.

When I was little, mom had a book called, “Make and Do”.  I Ioved that little book. Whenever I didn’t have anything to do, mother said to go get the Make and Do book and make something. I’d get busy and my brother and I would make a frog out of a washcloth rolled up here and there and tied with rubber bands. or we’d make play dough and shape a bowl of fruit.  Or make something out of paper plates or an egg carton. Then we’d give it to somebody else in the family.

These were nothing special, but the feeling of doing something with another person in mind to receive it was an important growth step for us. It’s something to keep practicing all our lives.

Can you think of someone in your life to make something for?

Make it, and see how you feel when you give it to them… and they say thank you!
