There is no guilt, no shame in living today. Today is all we have.
God gave us today to live and breathe and plan for a good bright future for us and others.
The phrase – “So heavenly minded they’re of no earthly good.” is true. We’re not living in heaven, we’re on earth where God placed us. He said to “Live!” “Be fruitful!” “Multiply!” “Fill the earth!” with what we make and create from what He gave us to use.
There is no condemnation or guilt for enjoying and being happy in life today, making the best of our lives today. No more thinking it’s wrong that we should instead be thinking only about going to heaven. God had to address this with his people after Jesus was crucified. Everybody was quitting work, quitting life and sitting on their housetops waiting for Him to come back for them. God had to instruct them to get down from the housetops and get back to work; back to doing, living, providing, taking care of things – themselves, their families and others.
From the very beginning God has had work for us peoples to do. Find the work you like to do where you can excel, increase and help others, and have at it. Your work is needed, it matters.
Let’s see — what project shall I begin or continue right now so I can feel good about myself?
