I am a customer. Or… I am a vendor, or a salesperson facing the ‘public’ (other people) everyday.
Sometimes customer service is made harder than it really is.
Basically, customer service is treating someone the way you’d want to be treated…kindly, helpfully, sooner than later, giving a little extra TLC, asking how their day went, sincerely listening to help solve whatever they need help with…just being friendly. Put yourself in their shoes.
This week I went to the hair salon, and as soon as I checked in, I was asked if I would like some coffee, or tea or water. How delightful! They were so genuine, and of course I said yes, please! She took my coat and showed me to their comfortable sitting area. I met another customer and we talked until her stylist came. So friendly.
When my stylist came, she too was genuine. I could tell she truly wanted to help me, not just ‘get another person through the mill’ and on to the next. She listened to me – asking questions to help me decide what I needed. Although we had never met before, we had a lot in common and a good conversation. The wash and rinse included a head and neck massage. She said it was just something their salon decided to do extra for their clients.
She asked several times throughout the cut what I thought of the length, etc. and at the end she earnestly asked several times if I liked it and if I wanted her to do anything else.
They have their own line of products, but she didn’t try to sell me any, she helped me get my coat and check out and wished me well. I ended up having some questions about their products and the receptionist went to get her to answer them.
Their service was so stellar. I am going back again and asking for the same stylist. She (their exceptional customer service) made such an impression on me. I felt good about it the rest of the day.
I truly felt pampered and cared for!
According to a previous post, they raised the dignity of everyone who came in to their shop!
