The Power of Good

Observe the sequence…feeling=thinking=doing. It doesn’t have to be this way, but often it is.

Turn your good feelings into good thinking and go one step further…do something good with them.

So it’s not merely good feelings towards/about others. We’re talking about good actions and works towards others (including ourselves) that follow.

We need to translate the thoughts of good – that no one can see –  into actions and deeds that people can see.

I believe we’re given these thoughts not just to think by ourselves and do nothing with, but to be ideas used to help and benefit others.

Not that we’re trying to pat ourselves on the back for a good deed done, but if I see the person in front of me drop something out of her purse and she didn’t notice it. I feel for her, and the obvious thought comes to me to let her know…or I could just say nothing…’tough luck lady, I’m not getting involved in your carelessness, you’ll figure it out eventually’…

Or I could use my power of good and help her…let her know her card fell out of her purse, her child kicked an item out of the cart, she forgot something on the bottom of her cart…whatever it might be.

Turn the good thought into a good action. ‘Oh, it’s not that important, it’s a 5 second event, why let it slow me down and ruin my day?’  Maybe it’s 5 seconds of importance to her, preventing her from a ruined day.

Why not let you both have a good day because of your one good 5 second deed?

Think about it. 5 good seconds out of your busy 24 hour day? It’s worth the effort!

Where is your next 5 seconds of opportunity?
